The pantry is an anomaly, a restaurant that has been open for over 40 years is hard to come by. The secret is the people; the owners, staff, and customers all play a vital role in this long-running success. With any of those pieces missing the rest falls.

Michael and Nancy Ackerman recognized the important role of community and friendship in the success of their business and have fostered this community since 1977. The Ackermans brought customers to their table for the love of food but kept them coming back with love itself.

After over a decade working for the Ackermans, Keith Bisciotti and Zoe Velush-Rogers took over the restaurant in the spring of 2021. Their love for the pantry is only surpassed by their love for each other.

The late great cook and author Laurie Colwin said, “the table is a meeting place, a gathering ground, the source of sustenance and nourishment, festivity, safety, and satisfaction. A person cooking is a person giving. Even the simplest food is a gift.”

We look forward to sharing our gift with you.
